Poem i wrote all on my own

Go easy on me, ive never been that great at poem writing but this one came natural.

Sirens roaring in the dead of the night

You’re the first out the door

And ready to fight.

Lining up in straight lines,

Checking baggage

Guns, knives.

Getting on the bus to take you to hell

Men ,women children

Saying their goodbyes.

Tears rolling down their cheeks

Trembling hands and shaking feet

Expecting the worst but

Wishing for the best

Is the ultimate sacrifice

Loved ones are put to test.

Watching the bus roll away

With the bravest aboard

Knowing they’ll be so far away.

Months seem like years

And hours turn into days

Wishing for that phone call

To say everything is okay.

Waiting seems like forever

and some may not get to call

but for their country

some have to fall.

Protestors on the streets

Wanting it all to end

Not supporting the

Toughest our country

Refuses to defend.

Dogtags , and letters are all a person has

To hold on to their loved ones

Walking through lines of people

Telling them their lifestyle is wrong

But they keep their heads high

Knowing all will be thankful

For the strongest of the strong

Will be home once again

And they can all live freely

For its because of the few and the proud

Who defend the flag

Our country flies high in the sky

For the believers and non to be safe day in and out.

The brave are used to people not defending them

But they do their job with honors

So our country never ends.
